Consulting
I’m a freelance embedded systems consultant and I work across the whole chain, from electronics to software. I am currently taking on new projects.
Electronic design
Schematics and PCB routing. I work regularly on low power designs, power supply circuits included.
Prototyping, microsoldering and reverse engineering
Fault analysis and component rework down to BGA. This is useful to characterise existing hardware, rebuild a schematic that no longer exists, or unblock a prototype.
Firmware and software
Development in Rust Embedded and C, on real-time operating systems as well as embedded Linux. I have worked with the STM32, ESP32 and PIC32 families.
On the embedded Linux side: building images with Yocto, and updating deployed systems (RAUC, Mender…).
Industrial protocols
EtherCAT, Modbus, CAN. Choosing and integrating a master, topology diagnosis, and fixing the faults that only show up in the field.
Systems under safety constraints
Most of my work is on railway projects. I am familiar with the constraints that come with these industries: SIL levels, requirements management, implementation and test case coverage.
